Welcome to the February edition of the YLC e-bulletin

Each month we share updates, opportunities and resources from across the VCSE sector and our statutory partners, all working to support children and young people across Wakefield District. Thank you for the work you continue to do in local communities, and we hope this bulletin helps keep you informed and connected.

Updates

YLC - New Member - We would like to give a very warm welcome to our new business and operations manager Safeen. Safeen brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to the team and we are delighted to have her on board!

WYCA Local Transport Plan - Consultation Outcome Report 

TGJones, has indicated that their store located inside the Trinity Walk Shopping Centre and which includes a Post Office is scheduled to close at the end of February 2026.

Wakefield’s Youth Work Alliance -Ensuring there is sufficient youth work provision across the district. For anyone delivering youth-based services or activities, please complete the following survey by 2nd March.

Calling Young Connectors! - SWYPT are looking for young people aged between 14-25 years old to learn how they can use their voice and influence in the design and transformation of health and care services and work with their peers across their communities/schools/colleges/voluntary groups in a new pilot project. CLICK HERE for more information
