As we head into a new month and the start of the new academic year, we’re pleased to share the latest news, opportunities, training, events and updates from across Young Lives Consortium, our members and partners.

Spotlight Updates & Info

➜ Single Point Access (SPA) Updated Phone Number - The SPA phone number ( including the ReACH crisis number) changed in December 2025 due to a base closure and change in area code. Wakefield CAMHS Number is 01924 316200. CLICK HERE for more info.

➜ CAMHS Referral Forms - only accept referrals via the online form or over the telephone. CLICK HERE for more info.

➜ DBS rules are changing for volunteers from 1 September 2026, working with children, meaning some supervised volunteers may now be classed as undertaking regulated activity and require an Enhanced DBS check including the Children’s Barred List. Read more HERE.

➜ Two new leaflets have been published to provide guidance for schools and parents to support the delivery of the school aged vaccination programmes to children with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND). ➜ DWP (Department of Working Pensions) Drop in sessions every Friday at 10am-12pm at St Marys Community Centre. CLICK HERE for more info.

➜ Turning Point Talking Therapies - Wakefield Mental Health Day on 9 October at The Exchange, Wakefield. The event will bring together partners, stakeholders and the local community to showcase mental health services, share good practice, and raise awareness of the support available across Wakefield. ➜ 2026 Youth Voice Census Report Launch - 10th September at 12 pm – 1 pm online. Drawing on the voices of young people from across the UK, we’ll explore what this year’s responses tell us about confidence, aspirations, employment prospects, barriers to work and expectations for the future.
